One player has now shared a new map that overlays several of the regions found in the game and places them on their respective states throughout the western United States. While the actual game map in Red Dead Redemption 2 isn't exactly a one-to-one recreation of the western states of America, much of the topography, climate, and wildlife can indicate the general relation between in-game regions and real-life locations. In the case of Red Dead Redemption 2 and its predecessor, development at Rockstar Games was fortunate enough to have the real United States to use as a template for the game's Wild-West atmosphere. A game's map can be one of the most important aspects of development for a title and can determine everything from how immersive the world feels to what kind of experience players are signing up for.
